Crossroads Training: Animating Antiracist Ways of Being @ St. Mark's Episcopal Church

On Saturday, May 11 from 9 am to 5 pm, the Antiracism Commission of the Diocese of Chicago will host a workshop called Animating Antiracism Ways of Being presented by Crossroads at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn. The May 11 workshop is open exclusively to members of the Diocese of Chicago. The cost is $20 and registration is capped at 40 participants. Register online.

The one-day training, formerly called Introduction to Antiracism, satisfies the antiracism training requirement for elected and appointed diocesan lay leaders and is a prerequisite for the three-day training required of clergy every five years.

 

Crossroads Training: Animating Antiracist Ways of Being @ St. Mark's Episcopal Church

Satisfies requirement of one-day of anti-racism training for elected and appointed lay leaders. This course is a prerequisite for the three-day training required of clergy. Training should be repeated every five years.

The Animating Antiracist Ways of Being workshop (formerly called Introduction to Antiracism) offered by Crossroads builds a foundation of shared analysis of systemic oppression among colleagues, establishes skills for talking about race and racism, and introduces participants to Crossroads’ applied tools for dismantling racism: an equation framework to describe systemic racism, an applied power analysis, and the Continuum on Becoming an Antiracist Institution.

Saturday, May 11, 2024 – 9am – 5pm Central Time at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn, IL. This will be a private offering customized for the Diocese of Chicago. The registration cost is $20 per person, limited to 40 people.

Quarterly Zoom “Lunch, Learn, and Lead” for Lay Leaders and Clergy

Bishop Clark invites lay leaders and clergy to join her for a series of quarterly “Lunch, Learn, and Lead” sessions on Zoom.

The next Zoom meetings will be held September 4, and December 4.

The sessions will be offered with simultaneous interpretation in Spanish and will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live session. These meetings are scheduled during the lunch hour, so please feel free to eat during the presentation.
